I am not sure where to start, I was under the impression that when they stopped the sedation yesterday and woke dad up that they would keep him awake. However when I called late last night to check up on him he had be sedated again. The nurse said that she looked up the protocol and it said that he should be sedated again. I don't understand this. I know that he was getting agitated but that was probably because he was in pain.

Today as I was leaving dad's surgeon walked by. I asked him how dad was doing and he said dad is just fine. I asked about the trachea and Dr B said yes they were going to do that this Thursday or Friday. I asked if he was going to do the surgery he said he had planned on it but "they" had called in another surgeon. I asked who and it was someone I have never heard of so I asked Dr B why couldn't he do the surgery. Dr B said if I want him to do the surgery he would do it so I said yes. I like Dr B.

After I got home I started thinking about it......."they" had already called in another surgeon to do a surgery that I haven't given them permission to do. So at the last moment they would say sign here and oh by the way this is the surgeon we chose for you? That makes me mad.

Dr B did say the surgery was kind of complicated --- getting the tube out of his mouth and throat and getting it back in through dad's neck. I guess that it means there may be period of time that keeping him breathing may be a little tricky. I asked Dr B that there wasn't anything that could go wrong that he couldn't fix and he said "you want me to make promises that I just can't make."

I think that's all that is new. If I think of something else I will post it later.

Keep those prayers going up for me and daddy.
