50th Upate

Dad is doing better every day. It seems like the baby steps are getting to be a tad bigger.

Today they had him off the ventilator and on the trachea collar (which is where they just have him hooked up to oxygen, he is breathing on his own basically there is no machine helping him with the trachea collar). If they can keep him off the ventilator for several days then they can do something with the trachea that will let him be able to speak some. YAY! He wants to talk so bad and you just can't read his lips. It's like he is mumbling or something. Sometimes you can make out what he is trying to say but it takes a while. He will be much happier if he can talk. He also wants something to drink and he can't have anything just yet.

Oh he did make it clear that he feels like he was hit by a truck.

Anything else new? Hmmm.........they are still having some problems keeping his blood pressure under control but are managing to keep it around 180 to 170 which is high but lots lower than the 200's he gets in sometimes.

Keep those prayers going up for dad and me.

Kathy
