Dad passed the swallowing test today!!!!! He will be able to eat pureed food and thickened liquids. Hopefully he will soon get better and we will be able to get rid of that feeding tube.
I have only heard from one rehab place that will accept dad. Tomorrow dad will be moving from the hospital to Silas Creek Manor -- it is a nursing/rehab place across the street from the hospital. I toured the place today. It is clean, it's an old building so it does look kind of rundown. How much can you tell just walking through a place? I do plan on visiting dad everyday so I will be able to keep a pretty good eye on how he is treated and how he is coming along with his rehab.
Even though people keep telling me that dad will need 6 weeks or more of rehab I am expecting a miracle. I want to be able to bring him home in 2 to 3 weeks. I just need to keep dad's spirits up and make sure he does all the rehab things that he can do. I know it will be slow at first but like I said I am expecting a miracle and see dad start off slow but then surprise everyone and make a great come back.
Keep those prayers going up for dad and me.
