rehab day 83

We are getting really close to dad coming home now.

Tomorrow dad and I have a meeting with someone from the home health care place that will be working with us when dad gets home. I am guessing we will decide on what he needs and what his insurance will pay. I will know more after tomorrow.

Unless something horrible happens dad will be coming home on September the 3rd which is a Thursday. WOO HOO

rehab day 77

Dad seems depressed. After talking with him I think he is getting nervous about coming home. He said that he has been gone for so long he doesn't know what it will be like at home. I really do believe he is having quite a bit of anxiety over this. I have no idea how to handle this. I wasn't expecting anything like this, I have no idea what to do or say that will help dad get through the upcoming weeks.

I marked on the calendar in dad's room how many days he has before he comes home. I did it because he acted like he just couldn't picture when he was actually coming home. Now I worry that it will be giving him more anxiety as he can see the days counting down.

I have tried to reassure dad on anything that I can pick up on that he might be nervous about. But I just can't seem to ease his mind. He is even worried that the cats won't remember him.
