I went to see dad this morning.

Dad is basically the same. The "PEEP" number that had gotten down to 7 at one point is back up to 10 now. It needs to get down to a 5.

Dad's blood pressure has been high but that is nothing new as he was on meds at home for it. While he has been in the hospital they haven't been giving him anything for it. Until today. Today they are starting to give him something for it, I don't know what the medicine is but he will be getting it twice a day.

The nurse said that his blood pressure went down while I was in there with him. So even though he is sedated maybe he can hear me. Because he is sedated I have only been going to the hospital once a day but if my being there helps his blood pressure to lower I will be spending more time there.

I wish I could explain more about the machines and the numbers and all but I can't. Dad is hooked up to several things, most importantly the ventilator. It is easier to talk about dad being on a vent than to say.......gosh.....it's even hard to type........it's hard to say that dad is on life support. There I said it/typed it.

It was last March (3/13/08) that we found out mom had cancer and was going to die. She passed on May 3, 2008. Dad got sick on March the 16th of this year. It is hard enough to have him sick, it is hard enough that this time last year we were losing mom......but now to have dad sick during the same time mom was.........it's hard. It's really hard.

Keep the prayers going up. Dad and I both need them.
