Dad is still in ICU.

They tried to take dad off the vent earlier today but it didn't work. Dad was so agitated and they couldn't calm him down so they had to sedate him again. They were going to try again this afternoon but decided to wait until tomorrow. The nurse said I could be there when they try, that sometimes having family there helps to calm the patient so they can get the vent out. So I will call tomorrow morning to see when they are going to do it and try to get over there in time. Hopefully I can talk to dad and keep him calm enough for them to do whatever needs to be done.

Pete (the nurse -- and a really cute one!) said he couldn't blame dad for being upset --- waking up with something down your throat and strange people all around you. Guess that would be freaky.

Keep the prayers going up. We need to get dad off that vent!!
