Monday April 6

I spoke to dad's surgeon this morning. Dr B sounded really up beat and said that dad was doing better, just a little bit better. Baby steps is what he calls it.

Dad is getting 3 more units of blood to (using the doctor's words here) "perk him up a bit". The nurse said that dad's hemoglobin was a little low.

Dad was running a slight fever this morning. It was 100.6 they don't give him anything for it until it hits 101.

Even though the nurses and I agreed that dad was leaking around his feeding tube Dr B totally disagreed. He says everything is fine. Dad's nurse today said that it does look like it is leaking just a bit but it where it is healing up and sealing up around the tube. But because it had leaked some stomach acid on daddy's skin they called in yet another doctor that prescribed something to put on the skin around that area to make the redness go away.

Dad is still very swollen but Dr B assured me that he is getting something to help him to pass the fluid.

I have to admit that dad did look pretty good today and like he was peacefully sleeping.

Keep those prayers going up for dad and me.

Kathy
