Thursday May 21

Today makes week number 9 since dad has his surgery. Week 9.

Today they took out dad's catheter. That's one more step to getting better and coming home. He is getting physical therapy every day. He still has his depressed moods but he is generally doing so much better.

The speech therapy people that have been working with dad since they took out his trachea has started doing some sort swallowing exercises with dad. I don't really get it but I know it has to be so he can sometime start eating real food instead of that puree stuff.

I guess as dad gets better I will have less and less to update you about. Right now the major thing is getting dad's strength back so he can sit up in bed, stand up, and get into a chair. He still can't sit up in bed without help and you can forget standing right now. Remember that miracle I asked you to pray for? Hope you are still praying for it. I have no idea how I can take care of dad if he can't get out of bed and into a wheelchair by himself.

Keep those prayers going up for dad and me.

Kathy
