As you all know dad's home. He came home on Sept 3rd. So that means he has been home for 4 weeks and a day.
Dad is getting stronger every day. He can now go out for breakfast using his walker instead of the wheelchair.
Also dad had been going in and out the front door (using ramps made and installed by TP and MC), but now he can go up and down a few steps so we are using the back (side?) door when we go anywhere. He is still a little shaky but is making tons of progress. I am able to leave him from time to time knowing that he will be ok. I am still there the biggest part of the time though.
Right now due to some nasty drainage I am having to "doctor" and change the dressing on his wound 2 times a day. It's not bad. I think the home health care people were wrong in saying to only change his dressing 2 times a week. I think that is where the problem started, but it isn't a big problem and we (me, dad, and the doctor) are on top of it.
And there's the colostomy bag. Do I really have to say anything more on the subject? LOL
Keep the prayers going up for dad and me. And please remember Aunt Betty -- she fell yesterday and broke her right wrist.
