day 6 of therapy

Dad is doing fine. He looks like he feels better, he looks stronger.

The speech therapist called me. Dad is being a big pain about having to drink thickened liquids. And he is really mad that I let them set up an appointment to go have the swallowing test again to see how things in the throat are working. I have no idea what he got so upset about the test. It doesn't hurt. He just has to drink something and they watch it go down.

He works really good with the physical and occupational therapists. Dad does everything they ask of him. So that part of his therapy is going good. He still isn't walking, and it is work getting from the bed to the wheelchair. But he can do that by himself where he was having to have help with that just a few days ago.

Yesterday made it a week that he has been at The Oaks. They seem to be taking really good care of him. The doctor has adjusted his medicine ..........I don't know if it has done any good yet, but it doesn't seem to do any harm to his blood pressure yet either.
