Dad had a horrible day yesterday, but today has been totally different.
No fever today. They changed his blood pressure medicine to a drip (instead of giving him something just twice a day) which is keeping his blood pressure around 160 to 170 over 50 something. Not great but compared to what it was it's pretty good.
Monday they are going to change his feeding tube and put a bigger one it (this is to help or fix that leaking problem) and they are going to start actually feeding him through the feeding tube.
Today they tried the breathing test again. This is where they switch the ventilator to the CPAP setting which basically lets dad breathe on his on. The first time he went 3 hours before they switched the setting back. They didn't want to work his lungs too hard for too long. But a few hours later they tried the CPAP again and that time he lasted 2 hours. This is good. He can breathe on his own, but they are only allowing it for small periods of time to build up his strength. I am happy with this.
Please keep the prayers going up for dad and me.
And for Aunt Betty.
Kathy
